The history of skyscrapers in the city began with the construction of the original Binz Building in This building, rising 6 floors, is often regarded as the first skyscraper in Houston; it was demolished in to allow for the construction of a more modern building of the same name, which was in turn replaced by another, floor-tall high-rise that also kept the original name.

The apartments were lovely and there was coffee available and condiments with lots of kitchen utensils. The bathrooms had toiletries available and the showers were great and plenty hot water.
